Week 7

Most students will be having a test on Tuesday so check home pages to find out more about that. Kudos to everyone who helped make Back to School Night a success!! We had a great turn out and I loved meeting all the parents who came - obviously I needed more time :)  Wednesday of this week is club day which means clubs will be meeting all day and no major test or assignments will occur that day. Friday is the Career Fair for 8th, 10th and 12th grade. This means that 4th period Seniors will be occupied on Tuesday for preperation and Friday for the Career Fair.  If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to call me. There are only two weeks left in this quarter and it is important that you and I are working together to ensure your child success!

Extra Credit Opportunity

Wow, there is a lot going on this week. Students have several opportunities for extra credit but the one you can help with is Back to School Night on Tuesday night at 5:30 pm. This is a chance for you to come and go through an abbreviated schedule of your childs day. By attending, your child will receive extra credit in their classes. I will give one point onto their average if a parent or guardian attends. If the parent or guardian cannot attend, send some other family member in their place to get the credit.

In addition, the juniors will be starting Kaplan this week. This is an ACT Preparation program that improves test scores by providing them with test taking strategies.  This will be done in the science classroom approximately every other Monday.

There are only 3 weeks left in this school quarter!! That means students need to be aware of any work they are missing and get it in as well as get extra credit in as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact me.  It's going to be another great and busy week!

Week 5

There is no school on Monday - happy Labor Day! Progress reports will be sent home with the students on Wednesday so be watching for those and contact your child's teacher to discuss grades. Thursday will be a busy day as students will be called out for interviews about school safety related to the school safety survey at the beginning of school. There will be a 9-11 program during 4th period on Friday to remember those who lost their lives in the attacks 10 years ago. Check out the class home pages to find out what is going on in each class this week.
